The Bourne Club is delighted to announce the addition of Padel alongside the more familiar racket sports of tennis, squash, racketball and badminton. Padel, one of the fastest growing sports across continental Europe, has increased in popularity over the recent years with over 6 million people currently playing in Spain.
Padel is a form of tennis that is easy to play, fun and sociable. It is played mainly in a doubles format on an enclosed court about a third of the size of a tennis court and can be played in groups of mixed ages and abilities, as it is not power dominant. The rules are similar to tennis, although you serve underarm and the walls are used as part of the game with the ball allowed to bounce off them.
Padel is playable at The Club all year round for members with a silver or above membership who can book via the online system. The floodlit court is available for play between 7.30am to 10.00pm (lights only available in the evenings)
