This course is aimed at players new to tennis or perhaps haven’t played since they were at School or College.
The coach will take them through the basics of the game so they can gain confidence to integrate into other sessions or games at the Club.
Each class will work around a different game situation and tactical intention. An example of this would be moving your opponent around when a player is approaching or at the net. The coach will work with the players in specific closed practices opening up to more game based practices requiring some basic decision making.
The Coach will go through more advanced techniques and drills and will be worked around a specific theme and tactical outcome.
Each class will include a warm up and combination shot sequences fed by the coach. Each ball is fed separately so if you miss one don’t worry keep going until the end of the sequence. Normally this would include targets and directional work for different areas of the court. Some live ball drills will be included towards the end of the session.
Cardio Tennis is a fun, group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high-energy workout.
The sessions are run in the sports hall to upbeat music using orange transition balls and some on court equipment like hurdles and footwork ladders.
