As the temperature dropped, refreshments at the Club’s bar were a welcome end to the evening.

Last weekend saw the biggest contingent yet of Bourne Club players competing in the Nationals at Bolton International Arena.
We’re delighted to say that our own Dan Jacobs, Bourne Club Director, won gold! Congrats to him and his partner Deirdre Howes.
Last weekend also saw the official opening session of the Bourne Pickleball Club Champs 2024. Bring on the Men’s Singles from midday tomorrow. Spectators are very welcome at all the sessions.

We are delighted to welcome Luke Cackett to the Club as the new Squash Coach.
Luke joins the Club today and brings with him glowing reviews, a fresh perspective, and a drive to build on the Club’s current offering for the squash section.
Luke will be running a junior squash course for members and non-members on Tuesdays from 5.30 to 6.30pm and an adult Club night, also on Tuesdays, from 7.00 to 10.00pm. Part of the Club night will include 90 minutes of drill training from 7.00 to 8.30pm. Sign up to both sessions via Globus.

We are delighted to welcome back our wonderful coach, Sarah Chikhaoui, who we have greatly missed at the Club.
For those of you who don’t know, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and following an intensive programme of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ongoing endocrine therapy, her consultant has just given her the all clear and the go ahead to get back to coaching on court full-time.
Sarah coaches the Adult Improvers course on Monday mornings, Adult Drills on Friday afternoons and Yellow Ball Junior Coaching on Tuesdays.
Look out for Sarah around the Club and be sure to say hello!

Pickleball English Open this weekend - Bourne members competing
Bourne Club members are competing this weekend in the Pickleball Skechers English Open at Telford International Centre. There are nearly 2000 entrants from 42 countries playing on 40 courts, including some of the top US players. This is the biggest and best international tournament happening outside of the US. Some of our players are defending medals from last year’s Open - we send you all the best!
